Needlefin is a personal media player for Apple TV. It connects to a Jellyfin media server that you own and control. We do not run servers, we do not have user accounts, and we never see your data.
The short version: Needlefin collects nothing. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. Everything the app stores stays on your Apple TV or travels directly between your device and your own Jellyfin server.
"Needlefin," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the developer of the Needlefin app. Needlefin is an independent, third-party client for Jellyfin, the free software media system. We are not affiliated with the Jellyfin project or with Apple.
None. Needlefin does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information with us or with any third party. We have no servers, no analytics pipeline, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app contains no third-party software development kits (SDKs).
To do its job, the app saves the following locally on your Apple TV. None of it is sent to us:

When you sign in and use Needlefin, the app communicates directly with the Jellyfin server you specify. This exchange includes your username and password (sent to your server to authenticate), and playback activity such as resume positions and watched status, which Jellyfin uses to power features like Continue Watching.
That server is operated by you or by whoever provides it to you — not by us. How it handles your data is governed by that server's own configuration and the policies of its operator. We have no access to it.
If you choose "Scan Network," the app sends a discovery broadcast on your local network to find Jellyfin servers. This stays entirely on your local network and is never sent to us or anyone else.
Needlefin contains no advertising, no analytics services, and no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not share data with anyone because we do not have any of your data to share.
Needlefin is distributed through Apple's App Store. Your use of the App Store, and any data Apple collects when you download or use the app, is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not this one.
Needlefin is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end. To remove everything the app has stored, sign out within the app or delete the app from your Apple TV. To remove your account or media, manage it on your own Jellyfin server.
